Not a scratch
a scuff or a wrinkle
A heal not dug in yet
Or a soul not touched .
As life has taken me
on this journey ,
My due diligence
to keep unblemished
has been inevitable
There has been wrinkles
With time
Less of a shine
from being worn
And as each step of the journey goes on
I’ve learned to accept
Each knick and scratch
with as much grace
that I can stand.
I can look back at the stuff
I may have stepped in
Or stepped on and weathered
To look back
with acceptance to remember
some bad and some not so bad
I will reminisce of where I’ve been
and be apart of the stories
that will cross the path
Of this old boot …..
