I Would Describe Myself As
I am looking for an active outdoors woman who loves walking/hiking and growing veggies, fruit & flowers. Despite my pescatarian preferences with occasional lapses for fowl, I am thankful for the old covered cattle sheds left by the previous farmer which are deep in the black gold my growing vegetable garden thrives on.
I am also expanding my perennial flower, herb and berry gardens. It would be wonderful to meet someone who considers gardening and preserving veggies vital to her well being; and who would be ok making room for me in the kitchen since I love to cook.
I am a nurseryman at heart, originally trained as a manager at the old (now out of business) Princeton Nurseries. I have gardened for 50 years and am keyed into the cycles of growing and harvesting. My primary occupation was teaching high school English; and my two book groups, one a men’s group, the other mostly women teaching colleagues, keeps my stack of required readings next to my bed well stocked on top of my own selected readings. Every so often I need to devote hours a day to catch up.
I love talking about the books I read while hiking or walking; so it would be heavenly if the woman I hope to meet shared the same habits of walking while talking about books she has read.
I also meditate, do yoga (stretching exercises 🙂) and resistance training to keep my aging body strong and flexible.
