Independent, caring, intelligent, down to earth. don't believe in game playing, not worth my time. been a social worker all my life, and it is evident in much of what i do. i was particularly upset with the loss of a client that was returned to prison, and my dad said, "babe, you can't save every bird with a broken wing. some will never fly again and they can't live without the flight." Still trying to save them, though, and it shapes much of who i am and what i have done my entire career. i am part of a developing farm co-op, intended to encourage local farmer resource exchange and provide a free venue for local farmers to sell products and services. we're developing a resource service guide, so farmers can support other local resources and get their needs met (example, had the barbed wire snap on me using a come-along on a fence, slashed my arm, and would rather hire someone local). not into the party or bar scene, never have been, don't care for crowds (guess because i've lived in the country all my life). Have had 4 ranches--Katy, Brenham, Bellville, and Paris---but gave the last one to my ex so he could keep up with the cattle. Just have 5 acres now, mostly wooded, and only keep goats (for dairy) and chickens.

I have always done everything I wanted to do......from windsurfing to hot air ballooning..have no unresolved experiences. Like the shooting range, currently in training for a concealed handgun license (don't judge me if you haven't lived in south texas, guys, buck up) I would love hunting in a country that placed the hunter at risk--or at least represented a challenge...not the passive deer feeders they do here....

Currently have 2 kids in college, one in final year at UT and the other in final year of grad school...looking forward to seeing them developing into the incredible adults i know they will become. I think it's important to give back what blessings you receive, so we're all corny enough we do the soup kitchen on thanksgiving, gather blankets and jackets for the homeless, and sponsor kids for christmas that would otherwise do without. My goal, i guess, is to help someone succeed in some small way so that when they are on their feet, they will look back, remember, and pay it forward to someone else in need (guess you can probably tell i'm a social worker...).

Will read about anything , at least one book a week.I enjoy the shooting range, have a 12 gauge, a 9 mm and a 45, like working my property. grow a lot of my own produce, trying to get to a more self sustainable life. can what is growing---i make a killer green tomato green chili salsa. like to travel, but after several trips to europe, want to see more of the US.

Not interested in marriage.......had 35 years of that and now just miss sharing with someone special. Honesty and integrity are critical--you like to play games or lie, don't bother. I think someone that lies either knows they have done wrong, or are ashamed of what they have done....i'm all grown up and can take the truth. Not looking for a life partner---tried that "until death do we part" then figured i needed to either shoot him or divorce him to escape that clause :)
