I Would Describe Myself As
I recently moved to Texas from Seattle. I grew up in Illinois and Wisconsin. My adult years have been in Illinois, Ohio, Utah, Montana, Idaho and Washington. It hasn't been my idea to move so much; it's just been what I had to do to support myself and my kids 'til they flew the nest.
I am family-oriented and active in my church. I am optimistic and always try to see the positive in everything life has to offer. I have a FABULOUS sense of humor (even though it causes many to roll their eyes at me) and love to make people laugh. Even if they’re laughing AT me, at least I’ve brought a smile to their faces. I like animals, especially dogs and enjoying cooking for others. (It’s not quite the same cooking for myself.)
I enjoy travel for fun or leisure; not so much for work. I used to teach elementary school, but have worked for the same major retailer for twenty-two years and am beginning to think about how I want to spend my retirement. I love the outdoors and believe there’s nothing better than a sunset over the water (unless maybe it’s a full moon over the water). I have a “bucket list” that includes a trip to Australia, a 4th of July at Boston Harbor and a role in a community play.
I write a blog as a form of journal writing for my children and grandchildren. I also enjoy music, theater and movies and football is my favorite sport.
Not knowing what else to say here, I asked two of my dearest friends, why they are my friends. What do they like about me? Hoping that maybe those qualities would appeal to the right man out there too… This is what they had to say:
Robyn: “Because you are fun loving. You have a warm heart. You’re a good person. You make me laugh. You’re a great story teller.”
Vickie: “You have common sense & you are smart. You have patience. You are not a quitter but a “go getter.” You’re not afraid of a challenge. You know when to be serious or to have fun. You know when to be still or speak up. You think before you speak. You care about others. You are a great person!”
If I sound like someone you might like to get to know a little better, I'd love to get to know you too... Drop me a line...
