Energetic, self-sufficient.

I am an energetic, self-sufficient, usually happy person. I have one daughter, two sons, and eleven grandchildren. They are very important in my life, but none of them live with me. I have two cats. They do live with me. I am a professor of mathematics at a community college. I absolutely love my job. Frequently when I tell people what I do for a living, they say something like “Oh my, math was always a difficult subject for me.” My students often express the same sentiments. It is very fulfilling for me if I am able to help a student go from that attitude to saying “Now that I understand this it is really fun!” I am also active in my church. My faith walk is the most important part of my life. I would want a partner who shares this passion with me. Someone who would be not only willing, but anxious to serve beside me. For example: I visit home-bound members. I frequently volunteer at events like the Chicken Dinner, and the Sausage Dinner. I help with serving communion once a month. I am most excited about the mission trip that I will be going on later this month. We will be going to Honduras to work at several locations. We will be doing repairs and painting. We will also be working at a home for young girls who are pregnant and have no family support. I also enjoy water skiing, snow skiing, hiking, horseback riding, and yoga. I love watching a good movie, and/or dining out. I recently remodeled my kitchen, so I really enjoy cooking. The floor plan is now open, so I can watch tv, or listen to music on Pandora, or just enjoy the view looking out the windows (front or back yard) while I am cooking. I would love to have some special someone to cook for/with. I would love to go see the Jersey Boys if they come to town again. They have performed at the Fox here in St. Louis. They are in Memphis in October. I would love to learn how to swing dance. I went on a service trip with the Sierra Club a few years ago. We worked on trails near the top of Mount Rainier. The scenery was magnificent. I know how to enjoy myself alone. However, I would very much prefer to have a partner to share adventures with. If this sounds like fun to you, send me a message.
